Pumpkin Carving

Notice the blue chin and missing teeth. So cute.

Since we got our pumpkins early this year, we decided to carve our pumpkins a little early. We thought that a week before Halloween would be late enough that the pumpkins wouldn't get all nasty. But how could we have ever realized that we would get a freak warm up, and the pumpkins got really nasty, really fast. I didn't get a picture of the pumpkins after they were carved because I normally wait until we have them all lit up. So no pics of the "after", but we did have an enjoyable time. Nathan and I decided that next year we should use the same stencils so that we can enjoy them. Plus, I do NOT want to take a picture of a pumpkin were several slugs have taken up residence. Yuck!!!!! Also, poor Emma's pumpkin got washed clean during a tough rain storm. Maybe next year.

I love the marker on her face. :) Gotta love washable!! It comes off on them while they are working. :)
Our neighbor gave us some Mr. Potato Head type pieces she bought at WalMart. They just poke into the pumpkins and make them look like animals. We had a pig and a dog. It was much easier than carving for the kids and no one was coated in marker. :) I will be looking for more for next year!
