Ho! Ho! Ho!

The time this month has certainly flown by. Emma only has a few days left of school, and then it is Christmas day!!!
We had the opportunity to celebrate Christmas a little early w/ our friends at the Down syndrome Association of Charlotte. This has been our first chance to attend the party because there are always unforseen circumstances that have occurred. It was a grand time! It was definitely a kids' party because we were served pizza and chicken nuggets and there was lots and lots and lots of goodies to eat! Emma had more than her fair share and kept asking for more. Then at the end of the event, we sang a couple of Christmas songs and received a visit from the big guy himself!
Fun day, fun time and can't wait until next year!

Early Christmas

An apron for Mommy

Purdue ornaments and coasters. Go Boilers!

A sleeping bag from Great Grandma Howat!!

While Grandma and Papaw were here, we were able to celebrate an early Christmas with them. As soon as the presents were brought in to place under the tree, Emma was ready to rip them open! We had to explain to her that you have to wait until it's time! She was patient...for a while. We all enjoyed the time we had together, and the joy on a little girl's face whenever she opened a gift, even if, it wasn't for her!

Decorating the Tree

I'm helping, Daddy!!

Ta Da!

The Gang

Supervising Grandma

What's this?

Everybody enjoys the tree!

It was awesome to see Emma wanting to participate in the decorating of the tree this year. In the past, she has always taken on the role of supervisor rather than participant, and she did so well placing the ornaments on the tree. Of course the ornaments were all on the same branch, but it was still too cute to watch!!!

Christmas Tree

In the barn, pony rides were being offered. This was the first time Emma rode one. I think that her face says it all!

Waving to everybody she passes

Heading back down the moutain

The day after Thanksgiving, we took our annual trip to the mountains w/ the Balts family. Grandma and Papaw Savage joined us for the adventure this year, and what an adventure it was! It was cold!!!! We have experienced every type of weather possible when going on these crazy trips up the mountain to retrieve our beautiful Christmas tree. One year it was almost 70 degrees and this year there was chance of snow! Gotta love NC!

Discovery Place

So it has been a while since we've posted anything, but have no fear!!!! We are still here and have a lot of pics coming!
First is Emma's trip to Discovery Place. Emma was off on Fall Break, and for a little day out, we went with Kim, Ellie, and the boys. Everybody had fun and was exhausted at the end of the time! (Even the Mommies!)
Discovery Place is a children's museum located in downtown Charlotte. They have play areas, exhibits, and interactive learning tools. Lots of stuff to play with!!!
