Apple Pickin'

Got our bucket and ready to go!

Pull!!!

Perusing for the goods!

Yummy!!

Once she had one to eat, she wanted them all!!

Visiting the animals

How tall this fall? No, we did NOT pose her. She did this all by herself

We took an afternoon and went up to the mountains for our annual apple picking trip. This Mommy was absolutely amazed at how well Emma did on the trip. Not only did she do a fantastic job staying with Mommy and Daddy, but she really enjoyed picking the apples off of the trees! To top it off, Emma got to visit some of the animals that live there. Overall, a great trip and so worth the drive!!

Place of Solitude

There is a strange strength conceived in solitude. Crows go in flocks and wolves in packs, but the lion and the eagle are solitaires. Strength is not in bluster and noise...
Strength is in quietness. The lake must be calm if the heavens are to be reflected on its surface. Our Lord loved the people, but how often we read of His going away from them for a brief season...
The one thing needed above all others today is that we shall go apart with our Lord, and sit at his feet in the sacred privacy of His blessed presence. Oh, for the lost art of meditation! Oh, for the culture of the secret place! Oh, for the tonic of waiting upon God!

First Day of School

Very excited that Daddy was home to take her to the bus stop! Daddy is normally off to work by the time his girls are up and at 'em.

Her backpack on and carrying her lunch box!

Waiting for the bus

Time to go

At first, she wanted to drive but after some coralling the assistant buckled the girlie into her seat. We are so proud of you!

Today was the big day! Our Baby Girl started her first full day of preschool, AND she is riding the bus this year. Mommy has been on edge for the past week, but of course it was all for naught because the girlie was so excited to ride the bus to school. When the bus arrived to pick her up, she managed her way up the steps and was ready to go! Fearless! The bus arrives at 7:20, and Mommy will pick her up from the bus stop around 4! What a day!!
So now you ask: what do you do with your day now that the girlie is at school? Well, this Mommy took a nice looong shower and had herself an actual "quiet" time. Going to work in some exercise into the day too. There's also that other mundane stuff to do like laundry and cleaning, but I glance at the clock and cannot believe it is almost 11 already! Very excited to see what this new season holds.
