Don't Pity Me

Don't Pity Me
By: Joanne Green

Don't pity me
because my child was not born
"perfect", for in his imperfection I have
learned to see beauty that is deeper
than the flesh.

Don't pity me
because my child and I have faced challenges
that have served to forge
a bond much deeper than love.

Don't pity me,
because you could not have done this,
for I thought that too once,
before I learned that through love you can do
a great many things you once couldn't do.

Don't pity me,
my child is the greatest blessing to ever touch my life
I am rich to have him, and richer still for
the experience of knowing him.
And if you are truly my friend,
then you will understand.

And please,
Don't Pity Me.

Tips from Noah

1. Build an ark
2. Build the ark BEFORE the flood waters come
3. If the flood waters have come, then you better start building quickly
4. Never think that a 100 years flood plain can never happen in your lifetime

TS Fay is still watering the yard here, but the waters have receeded. It is not the best start to a day when your husband wakes you up a little after five with the words "the shed is flooded". Not a good sign. Then to look out the window to see water rushing through the woods, and water up out of it's banks of our irrigation ditch. But thankfully by around 7:30 the rain had stopped enough to allow the creek to catch up and the water is down into the bank again. Let's pray that no more big downpours occur...just a slow steady rain. Well, after I get back from running my errands. :)

When You're Not Looking

I guess there are worse things that she could be doing besides sitting in her toy basket. I am just amazed that she still fits! The funniest part would have to be her playing with her tractor while sitting in the toy basket. Yup, our daughter has become one of us...a hick who likes tractors. Now if we could just get her to like Indiana (or as Emma says it "Enana").

The Love of a Mouse

So glad to know that he can't feel pain when she wrestles with him.

Team USA

Have to give a HUGE round of applause for Mary Beth Dunnichay and her diving partner Haley Ishimatsu for the outstanding job they did at the Olympics. Mary Beth is an Elwood native, so we are especially proud of her accomplishment of even making the team! Even though the pair finished fifth overall in the 10m synchronized diving, they handled the pressure tremendously for only being fifteen! Way to go ladies!

Haven't Forgotten

Baby Girl

We had the opportunity to watch Xander Balts for a long weekend while his Mommy and Daddy went on a much needed break. Since we had a baby in the house, there was to be baby stuff in the house again. Emma sure enjoyed having baby stuff to play with, even though she didn't understand that she was too big to play with it. Baby could, so why not me?! Her favorite thing to do would be to lie down on the floor gym and pretend to sleep. She even makes "snoring" sounds. Very funny! She still asks for the baby, but Mommy told her that she'll see him again soon.
