R.I.P. Red

This morning we lost our loving, little fish Red. Red has been with us for a little over a year, which I believe is around 80 in fish years. Red was spunky and funny. He loved his little cave and enjoyed picking on his brother quite frequently. Over the past week he has not been well, and this morning Mommy watched as little Red "passed on". Take care, little friend. We'll miss you.

Yummy! Yummy! In the tummy!!

Yesterday the Girlie celebrated her first Valentine party. The class had cookies with icing, chips, marshmallow hearts, and juice. Yummy! Yummy! The kids also exchanged Valentine's in their little decorated bags. It was nice getting to meet some of the other moms and watching the children's excitement over the treats! So glad the Girlie could go!!!!

A Snow Day?!

5:40 Am: The phone rang out to awaken Mommy from her toasty slumber to inform her that schools were closed due to "inclement weather". Inclement weather? So Mommy proceeded to peek out the window to view this said weather only to find:

Yes that is only 1/2 inch of snow on the ground! Mommy decided that she and the Girlie would have a fantabulous snow day together! Let's go outside and build a snowman!!! Upon getting Mommy and Girlie all bundled up to go outside, the Girlie didn't even last five minutes! (hey she might be mine after all ;) )

Well the snow isn't exactly snowman material. Not only is there not enough of it, but it is the fine, powdery snow that does not pack well. However Mommy was not discouraged! After taking the Girlie back inside and getting her all undressed again, Mommy went back out into the "elements" to make the Girlie a snowman!

What do you expect? It is North Carolina.

A Revisit

The Girlie went to Mommy and said, "Since Gramma was nice enough to make the trek back with us, the least we could do is take her someplace that she would really enjoy."
"Okay, Girlie. What did you have in mind?"
"Well Gramma really enjoyed going to the big barn when she and Papa were here for Christmas. Why don't we take her back so that she can see the whole thing? Plus, we can surprise her also with lunch with Daddy!"
"Sounds like a plan to me!"

The Graham house

90% of the house is original, including the windows, wood floor, and the bricks (which were all individually numbered)

This is the house's 2nd move. They just don't build them like they use to.

"Cheese"

Bessie the Cow

Girlie didn't like Bessie when she was talking.

So This is Snow

I'm not sure about this.

You want me to what?

Papa throwing snowballs

Oops.

Mommy's snowangel

Emma's snowangel

When the Girlie and her chauffeur arrived in PA, there was a couple of inches of snow. As the weekend came around, a couple more inches decided to fall. By Sunday it warmed up enough (25 degrees!) to take the Girlie out for a bit to play. The little Southern girl was very hesitant about jumping into the big pile of white, cold stuff! So with a little help of Mommy and Papa, the Girlie got out into the snow. Girlie was not thrilled about it, but did enjoy throwing snow balls at Papa so that made it worth the wet and cold. More to come...

Live in PA

Playing Connect Four. Girlie learned the color "black".

The balloon is ready to attack Papa!

Emma's new "belt". It's actually a handle for a tupperware container.

The Girlie decided to have her chauffeur (a.k.a Mommy) drive her up to PA to visit Gramma and Papa. What a fun time the Girlie had! She didn't get outside too much since the temperature only reached around 20 degrees, but she enjoyed the time of spoiling, games, and wrestling with Papa.
